Im Gone

There are two ways you can play this. If you prefer to play it live you will find it much easier to lower everything two frets and go with the key of G. This here is tabulated for the key of A, the original key it is in. It is possible and likely that it was played in the key of G and then transcribed to the key of A through modern technology. I have no evidence for this, though. Version 1 Intro e------------------------------2-----4--------------------| b------------5-2---------3-----------3--------------------| g------6---4---2-----------2-----2---4--------------------| d--------------4-------------4-----4-2--------------------| a----7---7---------------2-----2--------------------------| E--------------2------------------------------------------| This next part for the verse is done with the lower note plucked on the first beat followed by the chord plucked on the second beat, nothing on the 3rd beat and chord plucked again on the 4th beat. Should have a syncopated feel. (r=release) V1 A E/G# F#m Bm7 E7 e-----------------------------------------------------4---4--------4-| b------------5---2---2-----2-----2-----3---3---3--3---3---3--5r3-----| g----6---6---4---2---2-------2---------2---2---2--2---4---4------4---| d----7---7---6---4---4---4-------------4---4---4--4-2-------2--------| a----7---7---------------------------2-------2-----------------------| E--5-------4-----2-------------2-------------------------------------| 1&2&3&4&1&2&3&4&...(to be accurate, follow this rhythm.) (repeats with variations) If you are like me you probably don't care so much about playing it exactly as the original, and like to throw your own embellishments in. That's more fun and easy, anyway. So that is played through most the song, then you come to the "If I told you, how could you live with that?" On this part you will need to repeat the A E/G# F#m digression twice as written and then go to the Bm7 E7. Finally, we come to the bridge. This I will try to be as accurate as possible too. Don't fudge it up. Actually, I'm doing it off memory cuz I'm getting lazy, so I probably already fudged it. Haha! :P This part seems to sound best strummed, though it doesn't seem they did it that way. I can't even bare to see you smile. Now-a-days I can't look in your eyes Well I can but it takes a while to show Told a lot of white lies to hide it all. But they're beginning to break me down, Though I promise it's over now. I'm gone. I don't blame you at all. 'Cause after all the things that you did for me I Got beaten by temptation I'm gone. Girl you're better off alone. I don't want you to see, the truth in me. I'm gone. Try my best to keep it all together. Tryna take it back to where we were. Never been to good at keeping secrets, I'll Give you reasons but for what it's worth Lemme go. What the hell would make you look at me the same? Used to say "We're unbreakable." But I just went & changed it all. See if I told you? Could you live with that? If I told you? Could you live with that? If I told you, I couldn't live with that! I couldn't live with that! Noooo! I'd rather give you no excuses at all. I'm gone. I don't blame you at all. 'Cause after all the things that you did for me Got beaten by temptation I'm gone. Girl you're better off alone. I don't want you to see, the truth in me. You gave everything & honestly it's every fault of mine. To beg you for forgiveness just seems wrong. See, leaving you is one thing But you've got to realize: Some things are best unspoken So please don't ask me why! Ohhhh I'm gone. I don't blame you at all. 'Cause after all the things that you did for me Got beaten by temptation I'm gone. Girl you're better off alone. I don't want you to see, the truth in me That's why I'm gone I'm gone I'm gone Byeee I'm gone. Here's the youtube I listened to for transcribing this by ear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpMISuT3neU
